Unseelie Houses:
Aesin:
A house of Sidhe who hail from Northern Europe and model their society after Norse ideals. Aesin society is highly stratified, and generally separated into various "roles" categorized by gender - these roles, be they warrior, nurturing mother, bard, or sorceress, speak of the particular sidhe's role in Aesin society and usually impart a specialized knowledge of some discipline or a greater grasp of a certain talent. Aesin Sidhe generally do not recognize anyone without a title as a real person, whether they are commoner fae or human being. They also have a deep, uncontrollable fear of Christians. Their blazon is a golden owl flanked by the runes Uruz and Ansuz.
Ailil:
House Ailil is the ruling House of the Unseelie Court; these political manipulators and schemers share a close relationship with House Eiluned, based on the sibling relationship between their founders. Ailil are widely known for their ambition, and also for their love of excess and fine living.Their colors are silver and black, and their blazon is a dragon rampant surrounded by three stars.
Balor:
Claiming descent from Balor One-Eye, the children of House Balor have Fomorian blood running in their veins. This imparts blessings and curses in equal measure: Balor Sidhe are immune to many of the horrific effects of Cold Iron, but always bear some mark of Fomorian taint. They are usually either disfigured or mentally disturbed to an extreme degree. Their blazon is a serpent curling around a tower, and their colors are red, gold, and purple.
Daireann:
House Daireann is divided into two major sects; the warriors who are the largest numerically and generally dictate house politics and the mystics who are disposed towards magic, herbalism and the brewing of potions. The three laws that house Daireann hold above all else are Honor, Vengeance and Hospitality. House Darieann bears a hateful grudge against the Fianna tribe of werewolves. History tells of their founder scorning Darieann herself and of the bitter relationship that followed. Their blazon is an oak tree (unlike Liam's oak tree, this one has leaves and is alive.), and their colors are silver and green.
Leanhaun:
The Leanhaun are exceedingly beautiful even by Sidhe standards; this Irish house is widely known for talent both at inspiring mortals to great works of art, and for creating impressive artworks themselves. Leanhuan commonly hold positions as court bards and musicians in holds not controlled by their House. However, they carry a dark secret: unknown except to themselves and select members of other Unseelie houses (and House Eiluned, naturally). Their colors are green, gold and black, and their blazon is a harp wound about with thorns.
Varich:
House Varich hails from Russia. The Varich have mostly exchanged the grand, far-sweeping passions of Fae life for a focus on the repeating patterns that govern all life. They have a great affinity for noticing and exploiting patterns of repeated behavior. Dating from the tragic love story of their founder, the Varich have trouble with love, though in a very different vein than Fiona's romantic travails. Among the Houses of the Sidhe, Varich have the most to do with Inanimae. Their colors are gold and black, and their blazon is the sun.
