Crafting

Crafting mundane items yields mundane items. If you are a particularly spectacular crafter you can craft items of spectacular beauty. If the item you want to create has book stats, we will in just about every case (save cheesy write-ups from more obscure books) use book stats. If you are creating an item that has no easily adaptable book stats, the Storytellers will determine appropriate stats. Crafting time will be discussed with the Storytellers, but will seldom exceed one downtime unless your project is truly immense. (For instance, building a castle, unless you have a lot of Boggan assistance and a lot of unobserved building time, will take quite a bit longer than one month.)

In all cases, you will receive an item card.

Without the appropriate Arts or other supernatural powers (the Nocker birthright, etc) you cannot craft items that are "better" than the average in statistical ways: doing more damage, having more bonus traits, more health levels or fewer negative traits.

For Chimerical Crafting (by Nockers and others), please see the crafting rules in the Appendix of Dreams and Nightmares. (Conversion of specific rules to follow shortly.)
