Changes To Pre-Converted Arts
We are making a concerted effort to take the Arts back towards the Tabletop standards, and away from the often senseless and ridiculous creations of Shining Host MET and especially the MET Player's Guide.
Chronos
Chronos will progress as follows:
Basic: Wyrd
Basic: Backwards Glance
Intermediate: Dream Time
Intermediate: Permanence
Advanced: Reversal of Fortune
Permanence
Permanence, the fourth level of Chronos, comes from Nobles: The Shining Host page 79. It extends the duration of an Art - but not, as the name of the cantrip would suggest, into eternity. Depending on the number of Bunk traits, any given Art can be made to last from double up to ten times its normal duration. Double Bunking may give, at Storyteller discretion, a truly epic extension of an art's duration. The proper realm for this cantrip will always be Fae 5 (Dweomer of Glamour); you can use this art on a cantrip at any time between its casting and its expiration, whether or not you are the caster. For cantrips with no duration (single use effects like Holly Strike or Heather Balm), Permanence has no effect.
One Bunk trait: 2x normal duration
Two Bunk traits: 3x normal duration
Three Bunk traits: 4x normal duration
Four Bunk traits: 5x normal duration
Five Bunk traits: 10x normal duration
Dream Craft
coming soon.
Naming
A prerequisite to any Naming is a fluency in at least one rune-based language (so Runic Languages 1); for every level learned thereafter you must have that many (or more) points in the ability Runic Languages. (Two for Runic Circle, Three for Saining, Four for Reweaving.) To this end, Runic Languages is going to be treated as an ability separate from Linguistics.
Naming will progress as follows:
Basic: Seek 'n' Spell
Basic: Rune
Intermediate: Runic Circle
Intermediate: Saining
Advanced: Reweaving
Seek 'n' Spell
Seek 'n' Spell, the first basic level of Naming, comes from Changeling: Player's Guide page 171. It allows you to read and understand anything, in any language; the subject matter of the text determines the appropriate realm. (For instance: Actor for biography, Nature for biology or zoology, Fae for texts on the dreaming, etc etc etc). The Storyteller is the final arbiter on what Realm applies to the text, but the player may make a Mental challenge, retest Kenning, against 7 traits (or more, for magically warded texts) to determine the proper realm. Bunk traits determine the level of understanding of the text; one may provide a general, vague understanding, while three would be a complete translation, and more traits would reveal any coded or hidden messages in the text.
Pyretics
Coming Soon.
Primal
The first advanced level of Primal, Holly Strike will do damage equal to the bunk traits gained when performing the cantrip. This is still subject to cantrips being subdued due to banal uses.
(ex. If Bobo the Nocker wants to slash up Freddy the Sluagh and performs a bunk that is normally adaquite for 3 traits, he will be awarded two for using a cantrip with the intent to maim or kill. However if Bobo is particularly upset with Freddy's chair, he can perform the same bunk and would recieve the full 3 traits for his efforts).
